Acknowledging my movement style
Being judged by others is an element in my dancing career that I am afraid of and is still something I am apprehensive about whenever I show my choreography. I want every movement to be my best understandably, however, I know that I need to work on developing freedom in my movements and dancing for liberation, instead of perfecting every movement straight away. Throughout my work, my own authentic voice emerges to ignite a spark within my choreography, however, I would love to find more authenticity within my movements and be open to exploring different connections with my chosen stimulus. In Kate Flatt's book, 'Choreography, Creating and Developing Dance for performance,' (chapter 2, page31), she mentions that a great approach to choreography is thinking, 'let's see what happens if...' or alternatively, "'let's try this...', (Flatt, 2021).
